You are subject to the Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu Early Childhood Teachers` Collective Agreement if your work is covered by this agreement and you are a member of the Teachers` Union, the New Zealand Educational Institute – NZEI Te Riu Roa (NZEI). If you received a payment before January 28, 2012 for a recognized qualification in a previous collective agreement, you will continue to receive this payment while working in the same job at the same school. If you feel that you are being forced to resign or that your work situation has become unbearable and you feel that you have no choice but to leave, you may have reason to fight. More information about this can be found in Part 12 of your collective agreement. Download Schedule A to the 2011 collective agreement, which lists qualifications. There are 2 types of salary increases that are allowed in the agreement. You can have one or the other, but not both. More information about this can be found in Part 7 of your collective agreement. If you want a printed copy of this agreement, we advise you to download the following PDF version. If you have a recognized qualification, which your employer`s consent is relevant to your employment, you may be entitled to a salary increase. The allowances and qualification levels you must achieve are included in Clause 3.10 of 3.10 of the Agreement. For more information on the qualifications of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority, visit its website.

Below is section 3.8 of the 2011 collective agreement, which sets out the criteria. If you are responsible for other workers, you receive a pay increase, as stipulated in clause 2.3 of your collective agreement. After 15 years of uninterrupted service, you are entitled to long-term leave. That is in paragraph 5.6 of your agreement. Each salary level has steps in themselves, and you can move those steps up based on your performance evaluation each year. This is explained in paragraph 3.8 of the agreement. Their salary is set at point 3.2 of the treaty. The amount paid depends on whether you are a grade 1 or 2 janitor (see item 3.1).

Kindergarten educators who are members of the NZEI Te Riu Roa are covered by the kindergarten teacher, principals and the 2019- 2022 (KTCA) Chief Teachers` Collective Agreement. Teachers who are not covered by the collective agreement will have an individual employment contract (IEA). The different types of leave to which you are entitled are included in Part 6 of your collective agreement. Employers and staff largely agree that the department should eliminate the rates set for the pay certificate more than in the past. (See the results of a national ECA sector survey on this issue). There are service providers, including small service providers, who say they are already paying above certification rates, and this would help reduce the ability of other services to underpay them in terms of parental costs if other services were to pay wages above the current minimum level. These are included in clauses 3.4 and 3.5 of your agreement. See also the Aanhang A appendix of your agreement on handling pool chemicals. Their salary is set at point 2.2 of the collective agreement. The current minimum wage is $15.83 per hour ($633.19 per week).

Your management may offer to pay you more than that. Strategy 1. Primary and kindergarten educators join all the educators and do so on their behalf. But this was not done, and the opportunity was lost by the NZEI union during negotiations on the last KTCA, to use the negotiations as a lever for extending the agreement to other teachers in kindergarten/municipal services of the preschool teachers.
